Course program: “P1 in Oludeniz”
Course duration: 6 days
Format: Theory + practical training with flights under the supervision of an instructor.
Course objective: To master the basics of paragliding and make your first independent flights from a safe height.
Day 1: Introduction and preparation for the flight
• Theory:
1. Introduction to the course program.
2. Paraglider structure: wing, lines, harness, carabiners.
3. Safety basics: minimizing risks at takeoff, in the air and during landing.
4. Review of local conditions in Oludeniz: meteorology, features of Mount Babadag.
• Practice:
1. Packing the paraglider and checking the equipment.
2. Practicing takeoff technique and wing control on the plain.
3. First contact with paraglider control: raising the wing and holding it in the “window”.
Day 2: Ground training and first starts from a training slope
• Theory:
1. Basic aerodynamics: what makes a paraglider fly.
2. Air traffic rules: who has priority in the air.
3. Safety precautions during launch and landing.
• Practice:
1. Practice starts from a small training slope.
2. Work on wing stability and line control.
3. Practice the technique of running and first short “jumps”.
Day 3: First solo flights from a low altitude
• Theory:
1. How to choose the right flight path.
2. Basic control: left and right turns, descent and speed control.
3. Analysis of conditions for safe flight: wind, obstacles.
• Practice:
1. Flights from a low altitude (50–100 m).
2. Performing simple maneuvers: maintaining course, turns.
3. Landing control: descent and soft landing.
Day 4: Transition to medium-difficulty flights
• Theory:
1. The influence of weather on the wing's behavior: dynamic and thermal flows.
2. Speed control and basic maneuvering techniques.
3. Recognizing and avoiding dangerous situations.
• Practice:
1. Flights from an altitude of 100–200 m.
2. Improving wing control in the air: changing speed, performing precise turns.
3. Demonstrating safe landing skills on restricted areas.
Day 5: Flights from Mount Babadag with the instructor's permission (altitude 1200 m), provided that the foreseeable points are completed perfectly.
• Theory:
1. Preparing for flights from high altitude: pilot behavior in the air.
2. Recognizing air currents and using them for flying.
3. Introduction to the rules of group flying.
• Practice:
1. Flights from Babadag Mountain under radio control of an instructor.
2. Performing advanced exercises: long glides, stable descent.
3. Landing on Oludeniz beach with precision.
Day 6: The final day – solo flight and certification
• Theory:
1. Review of the theoretical foundations of the course.
2. Analysis of typical mistakes of beginners and how to avoid them.
3. Next steps: transition to P2 level, additional training.
• Practice:
1. Solo flight from Babadag Mountain (1200–1700 m) under minimal radio control.
2. Performing all flight elements: takeoff, control, maneuvers, landing.
3. Pilot skills assessment by an instructor.
• Final:
• Awarding of the P1 certificate.
• Photo session to remember the first flight over Oludeniz.
Additionally:
• Materials: Each participant receives theoretical manuals and access to video lessons.
• Equipment: All equipment is provided by the school.
• Bonus: Discount on the next level of the course (P2).
